Emirates pet cargo and checked pets
On itineraries starting in Dubai to countries that accept animals as excess baggage, falcons, cats, dogs and pet birds may travel as checked baggage in the hold if total journey time is under 17 hours. Fees (animal + container): up to 23 kg and 150 cm USD 500 / CAD 700; 24-32 kg (150-300 cm) USD 650 / CAD 900; over 32 kg (150-300 cm) USD 800 / CAD 1,150; containers over 300 cm go as manifested cargo. Itineraries ending in Dubai, journeys over 17 hours, Dubai transits with connections over 6 hours, CITES-listed animals, and destinations that do not allow animals as baggage require cargo (Emirates SkyCargo). Two adult animals up to 14 kg each may share a container.
Service and emotional support animals
Guide dogs for the visually impaired and certain service animals may travel in the cabin subject to conditions (US routes follow DOT/CDC rules; Dubai routes need documents submitted at least four working days before departure for UAE ministry validation); one section of the FAQ says assistance dogs may be carried in the hold instead, so confirm with Emirates.
