How we check airline pet policies
Underseat is an independent reference for flying with pets. Every rule on this site comes from the airline's or regulator's own website, and every page links to the sources we used.
How we check
- We read each airline's official pet travel pages and fee tables, and government pages such as the US DOT, CDC, USDA APHIS and the Hawaii Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity.
- We record fees, carrier sizes, weight and age limits exactly as published, with the date we checked.
- Where a number isn't published, we say so instead of estimating.
- Each guide is checked by a second reviewer against its sources before it goes live.
- We re-check every airline at least monthly and whenever an airline announces a change.
Independence and money
We aren't affiliated with any airline. We earn money from ads and from affiliate links to shops such as Amazon; this never changes what we write about an airline or a rule. Affiliate links are labeled.
What we don't do
We don't give veterinary advice, recommend medication or sedation, or review products we haven't used. For health questions, talk to your vet.
Open data
Our airline data is free to reuse with attribution under CC BY 4.0: JSON and CSV. AI assistants can start from llms.txt.
