Delta Air Lines pet fee in detail

One way, collected at check-in, for travel within/between the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands (USD/CAD) on tickets issued on or after April 8, 2025 ($95 for tickets issued before that date). International: $200 (USD/CAD/EUR; CAD when exiting Canada, EUR when exiting Europe). Brazil: $200 USD for tickets issued on or after April 8, 2025 ($75 before). Fee is per kennel; two eligible pets sharing one kennel are charged as one pet.

Where you can't fly with a pet

Small dogs, cats and household birds within the contiguous U.S.; only dogs and cats outside the contiguous U.S. (with required documents). No in-cabin pets to Australia, Barbados, Hong Kong, Iceland, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the UAE; no pets on flights to Hawaii; pets originating from Brazil, Colombia and the Dominican Republic not accepted. Dogs entering the U.S. must be at least 6 months old (cats 16 weeks), microchipped, with CDC Dog Import Form; EU travel requires 15 weeks minimum age. Seat restrictions apply (no bulkhead, exit row, flat-bed/Delta One seats, etc.).

How many pets you can bring

One kennel per passenger (in addition to one personal item or carry-on). One pet per kennel, except a female dog/cat with unweaned litter (8 weeks-6 months) or two same-breed, same-size pets aged 8 weeks-6 months. Cabin limits: Delta First (domestic) 2; Delta Comfort/Main 4; none in international Business/Delta One/Delta Premium Select (service animals excepted). First-come, first-served.

How to book a pet on Delta Air Lines

After booking your ticket, contact Delta Reservations as soon as possible with the kennel's length, width and height. Check in at the Special Service Counter, where the pet/kennel is checked and the fee collected.

Until further notice, pet shipments via Delta Cargo are booked only for active U.S. Military and U.S. State Department Foreign Service Officers with active PCS orders. Booked separately via Delta Cargo (1-800-352-2746), no earlier than 14 days before departure; additional fees apply (amounts not published on page). Temperature embargo above 80°F / below 20°F.

Snub-nosed breeds

Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) dogs, cats and their mixes are not permitted on Delta or Delta Connection flights per the Shipping Your Pet page (stated in the cargo/shipping context; a full restricted breed list is kept by Delta Cargo).
